How to Make this Sound Not So Whiny

I've longed for some time to sit together with friends and catch up.
I've longed for some time to meet new people
I've always felt when the right person came along, they'd show up...so there was no use looking.
I've always felt that I was strong, and could get through it.

But when you are ready to meet someone, and they haven't come through.
And you are ready to meet new people, but it's coming slower than you thought
That's when strength can be hard to find.

When I'm out in the the mountains, I feel the same way.
I've been longing to sit and catch up.
I've been longing to meet new people along the trail.
When I look at the mountains, I know God showed up.
And I don't need so much strength when I'm backed up by so much hard rock.

Gmail addiction

Do you ever find yourself sitting on the couch, pressing the "inbox" button on gmail over and over again. Some people would call it OCD. I call it, "is anyone out there?". So my gmail addiction is really a Pink Floyd song. Sometimes, I just need someone to say something out of the blue that is completely unexpected. Sometimes, I need to hear from someone that I haven't heard from in awhile.

Maybe I'm hoping it will be someone I've lost in my life, who wants to make things right and re-ignite an old friendship. I want them to remember the good parts about me, and not what they've decided to focus on. That's really what I'd like. I don't like to let go of relationships that meant/mean a lot to me. Even if it is sometimes necessary.
